Scoring/Points Allocation
SCORES and AWARDS:
After the completion of the tournament round in each division in any CJGT event, awards will be given to the Top 3 finishers in each division, and Top 5 finishers in each division will be acknowledged.
-
Ties for 1st place will be broken with a sudden death playoff
-
If weather or darkness prevents completing a sudden death playoff, the winner will be decided by a scorecard playoff using the methods outlined below for 2nd and 3rd place ties.
-
Ties for 2nd and 3rd will be broken by the following: All ties for eighteen hole players will be determined on the basis of the best score on the last nine holes played. If the tying players have the same score for the last nine, the position of finish will be determined on the basis of the last six holes, last three holes and finally the 18th hole. If the players are stilled tied, the score on the holes counting backwards beginning on hole 17 will determine postion of finish; All ties for nine hole players will be determined on the basis of the best score on the last six holes, last three holes and finally the 9th hole. If the players are still tied, continue backwards from the last hole until a winner is determined
-
If the competition has a split tee start for eighteen hole players within the same division, the “last nine holes, last six holes, etc.” is considered to be the last 9 holes of the course.
If an event is shortened due to inclement weather, scorecard playoffs will be determined by:
- 5 or 6 holes completed – last three, last hole
- 7 or 8 holes completed – last six, last three, last hole
- 9 or more holes completed – last 9, last six, last three, last hole
- If the players are still tied using the above method, continue backwards from the last hole until a winner is determined
POINTS and TOUR CHAMPION HONORS:
Points will be awarded on the CJGT website to the top 10 finishers in each division at each regular season event and will accumulate throughout that season's Tour. If 2 or more players tie for 4th or below, all points for the spots in question will be added together and then distributed by average to the players equally. Points for playing in a Tour Championship will be awarded at 1 1/2 times the regular points allocation.
The player with the highest total of accumulated points for a Tour in his or her division, who has competed in at least 4 events in that Tour will be named Tour Champion. Points will not carry over from one Tour season to another. All players will begin each Tour at zero points.
